National Locum Pharmacists is an Australia wide support service established on a vision:
Addressing a critical shortage of locum pharmacists needed by pharmacy for maintaining continuity of care in the community.
There is a well established need for continuity of care in a pharmacy setting, however even pharmacists fall ill, encounter unexpected family and personal situations or simply need some well deserved down time. Finding replacements at short notice can be challenging, particularly in a rural or remote setting, with a worst case scenario resulting in temporary closure of the pharmacy, affecting the business, its reputation and the community it serves.
We believe support services should be available to provide pharmacies with access to locum pharmacists when and where they're needed.
